Sudan University of Science and Technology is seeking a contract with accredited and qualified training centers in major cities outside Khartoum State for the purpose of implementing postgraduate and distance education programs according to the following conditions

1. Provide air-conditioned classroom with a comfortable seating

2. Provide a standby backup power generator that in case of power blackouts

3. Availability of laboratories for programs that require practical teaching

4. Providing decent and comfortable accommodation for teaching staff members

Prof. Awad Saad Hassan, the university, participated in the ninth Diaspora International Conference on migrants and rebuilding Sudan in a way that achieves the goals of sustainable development 2030. At the beginning of his speech he welcomed the attendees and Prof. Allam Alnour Osman, head of the World Organization for Sustainable Development at the United Nations and founder and president of the Sudan Knowledge Platform.

Prof Awad expressed his happiness to participate, acquainting the audience with the experience of Sudan University of Science and Technology, in the initiative and implementation of the elearning process in light of the conditions that the country went through from the Covid19 pandemic and the flooding disaster that led to the disruption of teaching activities for a period of two years, which resulted in the accumulation of student batches.  All these issues led the university to employ elearning support during 2019.

Finally, Prof Awad reported to the audience a summary of the recent Senate Council meeting No. 3-2020, which was broadcasted online to the various faculties of the university through the university video conferencing platform, and the success of the Council in the graduation of 4,000+ students.

Today, the Board of Directors Meeting, No. 2-2020, was held chaired by Prof. Omar Al-Siddiq, who emphasized in his speech that the board members are partners in the university and must have a clear role in achieving its vision, goals and projects.

It gives me great pleasure to congratulate the students who graduated after their results were approved at the Senate meeting today the 24th Dec 2020, which was held online and attended by more than 250 members distributed over more than five centers in the various faculties of the university.

The courses were completed and with these great efforts, the university was written in history as the first sudanese university to initiate and implement this type of education during the outbreak of the pandemic in Sudan.

Furthermore, the examinations were held despite all these difficult circumstances and a number of 4,693 graduated students had their results approved today at the Senate meeting.

I would like to extend my thanks and gratitude to the Computer Center and its previous and current management and all the technicians working in the center. Also special thanks to the coordinators of eLearning in the various faculties and the Secretariat of Academic Affairs and its previous and current management. 

Thanks are extended to the Central Examinations Committee for their great effort in reviewing and approving results, in addition to the College of Graduate Studies, the university principal and his office, the university councils, the board of deans, the faculties councils, their department councils, and all the professors and other staff. Finally, we say to ourselves and our students, "You have reached a major milestone today and may you have a blessed life and lifelong success anywhere in the world."

Today we are overwhelmed with great joy by this great achievement, after two years, as the study was continued in difficult and complex conditions, due to the first wave of covid19 pandemic, followed by the floods disaster and now we are facing the second wave of Covid19. All these issues made the university strongly determined to move towards elearning with fast steps. An enoremous effort was made such that obstacles were overcome. 

Prof. Awad Saad Hassan, vice chancellor of the university, chaired the Senate Council meeting No. (2020-135) which was broadcasted online to the various campus sites. Prof. Awad congratulated the senate members on the second anniversary of the glorious December revolution, mourning the souls of the martyrs and wishing a speedy recovery for the wounded and the injured and the safe return of the missing.

Prof. Awad also congratulated the members on removal of Sudan from U.S. terrorism sponsors list. He also commented on the celebration held by the university on this great occasion.  Also, Prof. Awad appreciated the university’s initiative role and its readiness for such events, by thanking the organizing committee for its efforts and extended his thanks to the Faculties of Fine Arts, Music and Drama and their students for their participation to  express their joy for the revolution.

Also, Prof. Awad  demonstrated his happiness for the graduating  students after stopping for two years and described it as a special day to celebrate, where studying was resumed and  examinations were held in difficult and complex health conditions that everyone witnessed due to the circumstances of the Covid19 pandemic, in difficult conditions that everyone suffered from, including professors, students, employees, guards and workers, and for that, the university succeeded on utilizing eLearning to reduce the accumulation of student batches and thus it wrote  itself in the history of Sudan, as the first university to pick up the gauntlet and fully implement eLearning, where the university became a reference for many higher education institutions in Sudan.

Finally, he thanked the Computer Center, its staff, and its previous and current adminstration, the Secretariat of Academic Affairs, the College of Graduate Studies, the deputy Vice Chancellor office, and saluted the university councils for the massive effort they made in a short time, which found great praise from the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
