Deanship of Quality and Development Congratulates Attendees of the HE Staff Performance Enhancement Course
Prof. Omer Mohamed Elhassan Darma, Dean of the Deanship of Quality and Development at Sudan University of Science and Technology, addressed the final events of the training course of HE Staff Performance Enhancement, which was organized by the Secretariat of Scientific Affairs in cooperation with the Deanship of Quality and Development.
Prof. Darma expressed his happiness at holding the course despite the current exceptional circumstances, and saluted the spirit of enthusiasm among the students and their active participation that enriched the discussion sessions, which led to wider understanding and achieved benefits. He also called on the attendees to apply the knowledge they acquired from the course on their teaching process to reach the desired quality.
Dr. Muhannad Hassan Ismail, Director of the Training and Capacity Building Center at the Deanship of Quality and Development, praised the attendees for the spirit of commitment and eagerness that he felt among the students to attend, continue and persist without interruption in their desire to obtain more doses that help them in the course of their teaching activities, wishing them success.
Prof. Ahmed Koko Suleiman Daldum, the representative of the course attendees, expressed gratitude for the great effort of the Deanship and the course instructors, explaining that the course added a lot to the attendees in terms of skills development, improving and refining their teaching skills that are in the interest of the students and adding up constructively towards the promised green future of Sudan.
Finally, certificates were distributed to the 20 course attendees from the various colleges of the university in the training course, which lasted for three weeks, and the conclusion of the course was attended by Dr. Omar Aradib, a staff at the College of Education.

Partnership between the University, Defense Industries System, Omdurman National Bank to Provide Affordable Tablets for students
Prof. Awad Saad Hassan, vice chancellor of the University, chaired a meeting that included the three committees: Higher committee, Financial committee, and Technical committee, for providing affordable tablet devices for students.
The considered tablet devices have distinctive specifications and the aim is keeping pace with the requirements of modern education techniques. This project will serve students as an important segment and support them in the elearning process. Prof. Hassan also confirmed the university endeavors to acquire computers for staff very soon, to support the elearning processes as well.
The meeting emphasized on the necessity of expediting the implementation and delivery by the executing company, which in the first phase will assemble locally, while in the future, the entire manufacturing will take place locally within the framework of developing and improving the local industry and by setting up a maintenance workshops inside the university, providing the necessary maintenance and training computer technicians.

The university Signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Advanced Engineering Works in the presence of Prof. Awad Saad Hassan, vice chancellor of the university , Prof. Mahdi Abbas Shkak, deputy vice chancellor of the university, Dr. AlFatih Ahmed Hassan, principal of the university, Dr. Qrrad Fadlallah Kateik Arkin, Dean of the College of Architecture and Planning, Dr. Salah Gassim, deputy dean for administrative affairs of college of engineering and Ms. Nihad Abdul-Muttalib Ahmed Ibrahim, Director General of the Advanced Engineering Works Company Ltd. and the accompanying delegation.
Prof. Awad Saad Hassan signed for the university, while Ms. Nihad Abdul-Muttalib Ahmed Ibrahim signed for the Advanced Engineering Works Company. The two parties also agreed on joint cooperation in the fields of development and quality in all engineering services and others, addition to cooperation in the framework of scientific research and technology transfer, especially scientific research that is applicable in solving many problems and issues, in addition to studies and consultations in low-cost construction, technology modernization and development and engineering consultations.
Prof. Awad Saad Hassan welcomed the company delegation and expressed his happiness with the signing of the memorandum of understanding, explaining that the university has partnerships with the public and private sectors in the fields of training, graduate studies and research, as the university believes in the need to change concepts and keep pace with the development. Whoever proves his worth to work for the company, in addition to informing students of everything new in the fields of work of the company that belongs to the defense industries system and works in multiple fields, most notably engineering, agricultural, business administration and arts
Furthermore, Prof. A Hassan stressed the university's readiness to provide management training to the company's employees through the training centers available at the university, in addition to providing the required consultations.
Finally, Dr. Mariam Abbas Ibrahim Abdelghafour, manager of External Relations Administration Office, presented a presentation on the university, its development and its inclusion of 25 colleges and more than 75 thousand students at the level of undergraduate and postgraduate studies and its close relations with universities inside and outside Sudan, in addition to its relations with institutions in various fields, especially industrial.
SUST Honors the Electrical Engineering Students Who Undertook a Charity Project to Provide Water in Awlad Toumsah Area of Kordofan
In a honorary ceremony that shook the corners of the Deans Hall with applause and overwhelming joy, SUST honors a group of electrical engineering students, batch 31, who set up a charitable project for an enhanced irrigation well in the village of Awlad Toumsah in Kordofan. The activity was funded by the estimated cost of graduation celebrations. It is worthy to mention that the well provides water supplies to at least 2000 inhabitants in the area.

A Visit to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Khartoum
A delegation of SUST headed by Prof. Awad Saad Hassan, vice-chancellor of the university, paid a visit to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in Khartoum. The delegation included Prof. Caroline Edward Ayad, Secretary of Academic Affairs and Dr. Maryam Abbas, Director of External Relations Office. The delegation was received by Prof. Ali bin Hassan Jafar, the current Saudi ambassador to Sudan in addition to the cultural attaché of the embassy Mr. Abdullah Al-Hashemi, the economic attaché, Mr. Sultan Al-Qahtani, and a number of his advisors.
His Excellency the Ambassador welcomed the delegation and expressed his happiness at the visit. The two sides discussed ways to enhance joint cooperation between Sudan University of Science and Technology and Saudi universities in the academic, research and cultural fields, in accordance with protocols of cooperation in this field.
Prof. Hassan expressed his overwhelming happiness at visiting the embassy, and presented a background of the university being established in 1902 and its inclusion of more than 75000 students in undergraduate and postgraduate studies and 25 colleges distributed in ten campus sites in the state of Khartoum, in addition to its uniqueness for having the college of Fine and Applied Arts, the college of Music and Drama and the college of Physical Education and Sports.
Prof. Hassan also focused on reflecting the role of the university in community service and its distinction in research fields, especially in the fields of agriculture, veterinary and engineering, and informed them of the university's belief and interest in spreading the culture of the concept of entrepreneurship and smart study, in addition to the university’s interest in the agricultural and investment aspect, so that Sudan becomes a basket Food of the world.
