SUST Signs an MoU with Shirouq Paints

Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST) signed a memorandum of understanding with Shirouq Paints Factory, where the Vice Chancellor Prof. Eisa Bashier Mohamad signed on behalf of SUST and Shirouq Paints was represented by its CEO, Mr. Sufian Abdulaziz Ahmed.

The event was attended by Prof. Abdelazim Suleiman Al-Mahal, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Awadalla Tayfor Ali Ismail, Principal of the university, Dr. Mohamad Awad Al-Sheikh, Deputy Vice-Principal of the university, Dr. Mohamad Al-Majzoub, Dean of the College of Fine and Applied Arts, Dr. Abdel-Moneim Khalil, Director of Investment at the University, Dr. Mustafa Ahmed Aljack, Director of the Sudan Center for Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship, Dr. Huda Osman Abdallah, Director of the Public Relations and Media, and Dr. Mariam Abbas Ibrahim Abdelghafour, Director of External Relations.

From Shirouq Paints, the attendees included Mr. Mohamad Abdulaziz Ahmed, Managing Director of the Board of Directors, Ms. Rabah Abdulaziz Ahmed, Director of Interior Design, Ms. Amal Osman, Director of Marketing, Ms. Naglaa Al-Taher, Director of Internal Audit, Mr. Sayed Fouad Abu Samra, Director of Sales, Mr. Walid Al-Zain, Director of Supply, Ms. Sahar Ahmed, Director of HR.

The vice chancellor, Prof. Bashier, welcomed the delegation to SUST. His Excellency appreciated the cross-fertilization between academic and industrial institutions in the areas of joint research, cooperation and sharing in the fields of sales, marketing and mutual training at various levels, as well as qualification, which is in the interest of both parties. He said, "Al-Shorouk factory is recognized for the quality of production among the factories related to Sudan".

His Excellency also promised to put all the capabilities of the university to serve the factory in various fields, especially training, technical, administrative and consulting, in addition to the possibility of benefiting from the College of Fine and Applied Arts with its many and varied departments, which represent a great connection by virtue of specialization to the factory's production and technical operations.

Mr. Sufian Abdelaziz, General Manager of the factory, stressed that the joint cooperation with SUST aims to achieve the principle of partnership and mutual interests represented in the renaissance of education and the development of industries in the country by following and using the latest advanced scientific methods. His Excellency announced that all doors are open to provide support and for training of students.

"The students represent the generation of change, the hope for the future, and the basis for the comprehensive renaissance", he added. He also praised the graduates of the College of Business Studies, Fine and Applied Arts, for their distinction, and their continuous and clear contribution to the development of the factory's performance. He wished that the partnership would move forward to achieve common interests.

Prof. Bashier indicated that the MoU is a first step that will be immediately followed by implementation steps for the terms of the memorandum through the counterpart parties from the university and the factory, through the formation of a joint committee to follow up and transform the terms of the MoU into realistic activities and programs that promote partnership between the two institutions. His Excellency named the representatives of the committee from the university, marking the activation of the MoU and putting it down on the ground. The two parties also exchanged souvenirs.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Mariam Abbas gave a brief presentation of the stages of development of the university and its various faculties, and explained that the university includes more than (65) thousand undergraduate students and more than (10) thousand students at the postgraduate level, along with a group of the best experts and professors in various disciplines.

Ms. Amal Osman, Marketing Director of the factory, gave a presentation on the establishment of the factory in 2008 and highlighted how the factory's centers spread in the three cities of the state of Khartoum, and their centers in the different states of Sudan.
