Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST) signed a memorandum of understanding with Al-Jazeera Technical College, where the Vice Chancellor Prof. Eisa Bashier Mohamad signed on behalf of SUST and the dean, Dr. AbuTalib Mohamad Eisa, signed on behalf of Al-Jazeera Technical College. This comes as the University strongly believes in the necessity of closer scientific cooperation and the awareness of the need to develop means of development and expansion in the fields of higher education and scientific research.
The event was attended by Prof. Abdelazim Suleiman Al-Mahal, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Caroline Edward Ayad Amin, the Secretariat of Scientific Affairs, Dr. Mohamad Awad Al-Sheikh, Deputy Vice-Principal of the university, Dr. Ahmed Abdel-Fattah Qalandar, Dean of the College of Medical Laboratories Science, Dr. Huda Osman Abdallah, Director of the Public Relations and Media, and Dr. Mariam Abbas Ibrahim Abdelghafour, Director of External Relations.
The attendees from the Al-Jazeera Technical College include Prof. Jamila Saleh Abdeen, the College Principal, Dr. Juweriya Dafaallah, Secretary of Scientific Affairs, Dr. Hamid Al-Nourin Hamdan, Coordinator of Graduate Studies, Dr. Hiba Siddiq Ibrahim, Coordinator of the Medical Laboratories Program, Ms. Razan Abdel-Ghaffar Abdel-Majid, Director of the Information Center, and Mr. Mohamad Al-Khazzan head of media Administration .
Prof. Eisa Bashier Mohamad welcomed the delegation to the university, and appreciated the importance of partnerships between academic institutions, explaining that teamwork in partnership in the academic fields of teaching, scientific research and community service leads to better outputs because each of the two sides complements the other, especially with newly established institutions and formation with established and prestigious institutions.
The two parties agreed to carry out joint research, exchange academic staff and participate in academic projects in addition to arbitration and scientific publishing, in addition to student exchange and academic and professional training.
Dr. AbuTalib Mohamad Eisa, Dean of Al-Jazeera Technical College, expressed his happiness at being present at SUST, describing it as a well-known giant with a long history since it was a technical institute for its leadership in the field of technology and its steady access in the medical fields, and we trusted its excellence in this field.
"Therefore, we are proud and fortunate to share and exchange ideas, expertise and experiences with the university", he added hoping that the partnership will yield results that benefit science, the two institutions and the country.
Prof. Bashier emphasized the necessity of activating the memorandum of understanding by implementing the activities through the counterpart departments of the two institutions at the applied level in a joint committee which brings goods promises for both sides. The two sides exchanged gifts.
At the outset of the meeting, Dr. Mariam Abbas, Director of External Relations, gave a brief presentation of the university, including 25 faculties in various disciplines, located in 10 campuses distributed in the three cities of Khartoum state.
