Vice Chancellor of SUST Honors Pensioners

In a ceremony held by the Assets Department at the Martyr's Conference Hall, Prof. Eisa Bashier Mohamad, Vice Chancellor of Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST), honored drivers who have reached retirement age. The professor said that the university community remained interdependent and characterized by the spirit of belonging. He stressed that his keenness to attend the celebration comes in the context of strengthening the interdependence between the university employees.

Dr. Awadalla Tayfor Ali Ismail, Principal of the university, explained that the cohesive social fabric is the most important characteristic of SUST community, which aims for a lofty goal, which is the elevation of SUST. He pointed out that the superiority of university students and the great demand for them in the labor market is due to the contribution of all workers. He promised establishing rest areas for drivers and providing them with the necessary work aids. He stressed that the year 2023 will witness an improvement in the conditions of workers.

Dr. Elssawi Ali Abdellah Yahya, Director of Asset Management, said that the department includes three sectors: fixed, mobile and maintenance, which includes  23 colleges and a large number of departments, and a plan have been developed to improve work in the department aimed at development, planning and participation, which will be evaluated at the end of the period.

Dr. Elssawi also added that the administration will hold training courses for drivers that revolve around the relationship between the driver and the university; the relationship between the driver and the insurance companies; the job situation. He suggested making a special (uniform) that identifies the driver and indicates his affiliation with the university so that he receives respect and attention inside and outside the university, in addition to improving the allocations for scientific trips for drivers.

Mahmoud Mazqoul, the head of the drivers, thanked the university administration for its interest in their problems and needs, and confirmed their standing together to lead the university forward.
