SUST Receives a Generous Donation from Zain

Prof. Eisa Bashier Mohamed, vice chancellor of Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST), addressed the celebration of the grant of the Sudanese mobile phone company - Zain to the university, consisting of 60 computers with very high specifications, given to the college of Computer Science and Information Technology.

The event was attended by Prof. Abdel-Azim Suleiman Al-Mahal, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr. Mohamad Awad Al-Sheikh, Deputy Vice-Principal of the university, Dr. Yahya Abdallah, Vice Chancellor's Advisor for Technology, Dr. Wafaa Faisal, Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology (CCSIT), Dr. Afaf Madani Mohammad, Deputy Dean of CCSIT, Dr. Huda Osman Abdallah, Director of Public Relations and Media, and Dr. Fakhr ElDean Mohamed Ahmed.

From Zain company, the event was attended by Mr. Hisham Mostafa Allam, CEO of Zain, Emad El-Din El-Sheikh, Chief Technology Officer, Saleh Mohamed Ali, Senior Manager of the Corporate Communications Sector, Al-Tayyeb Ali Farah, Director of the Corporate Communications Sector, Awad Al-Karim Mohamed Al-Hassan, Government Relations, Rabab Imam Al-Badawi Corporate Sustainability Leader, Badr Al-Din Abdal Muttalib, Corporate Sustainability Department Coordinator, Samreen Al-Numan, Corporate Sustainability Department Coordinator, and the Photographer Kamal Omar.

The vice chancellor, Prof. Eisa Bashier, warmly welcomed Mr. Hisham Mustafa Allam, CEO of Zain, and his accompanying delegation at the university, where he described SUST as a giant whose age is nearly 120 years in a march of tireless giving to all institutions, public utilities, and community service.

His Excellency also added that the ingenious gesture came from Zain as a grant to the university, through which it urges other institutions to contribute and participate in providing support to higher education institutions and therefore graduating qualified students for the benefit of society and the country.

Prof. Bashier also expressed his gratitude for the great support, praising the partnership with the company and expressing his hope that the university will be part of the company's development in the technological aspect.

His Excellency also mentioned that the obtained computers have high specifications and their arrival at the university coincided with an urgent need for PCs, which had a great resonance among the students and professors of CCSIT. "We hope that the generosity of Zain will continue and SUST relations with Zain will continue to serve the interests of both parties.", he added.

Mr Hisham Mustafa Allam, Executive Director of Zain, expressed his happiness at being present at the university, mentioning his early participation in teaching in the Department of Electronic Engineering, explaining that he has a special relationship with SUST.

Mr Allam thanked Dr. Yahya Abdallah, Vice Chancellor's Advisor for Technology, for his relentless endeavor to serve SUST and attract support for it. He announced that there are many projects under discussion to serve the university and the students who are considered the mainstay of work in the company, especially the incoming "Telco Lab" for the school of Electronics Engineering, which aims to increase the educational capabilities of students.

All attendees from the university's side expressed their gratitude to Zain for the initiative, asking for more support to contribute to training students to raise and refine their skills, and called for cooperation with the company in awareness programs for students in many issues, especially drug abuse control.

In conclusion, the vice chancellor expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Zain delegation and presented the university's shield to the CEO of the company. It should be noted that the two computer labs were named (Zain Lab-1) and (Zain Lab-2.
