Under the Theme “Together Against Drugs”, the College of Animal Production Organizes Freshers Welcome Celebration

In Kuku campus, the College of Animal Production Science and Technology at Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST), organized a large reception for the newly admitted students for the academic year 2022-2023, in the presence of Dr. Mohamad Awad Al-Sheikh, Deputy Principal of the University, Dr. Maha Mubarak Muhammad Ahmed, Dean of the College of Animal Production Science and Technology, and Dr. Samia Yosif Mohamad, Representative of the Deanship of Students' Affairs, Dr. Wisal Abbas Al-Tayeb, representative of the academic departments of the college, Dr. Suhair Rahmatallah Fadl, representative of the Animal Production Research Center, faculty professors and staff, and a group of students.

Dr. Mohamed Awad Al-Sheikh congratulated the students on their choice of SUST, the prestigious icon of Sudanese universities. "The College of Animal Production Science and Technology is prestigious and specialized in its fields and is unique and its programs are advanced and up-to-date, and the university supports it with care, capabilities and expertise necessary for excellence and leadership", he added.

After he conveyed the greetings and congratulations of the university administration for the start of the academic year and success of admission to the university, Dr. Awad explained that the Deanship of Students' Affairs represents the supervisory authority that takes care of students and supervises the development of their talents as well as the promotion of behavior and morals.

He said, "We count on students of animal production and veterinary medicine in the production process, industrial renaissance and food security, and our goal is always to push distinguished scientific and technical cadres and frameworks for the labor market".

Dr. Maha Mubarak welcomed all the new students and wished them further progress, success and excellence. She also thanked everyone who accepted the invitation to attend the reception, and appreciated the efforts of the committee that organized the reception program. She said, "Sudan University represents a lofty and prominent scientific edifice and  belonging to SUST inspires pride in our hearts).

Dr. Maha stated that all the college employees are at the service of students and promoting their academic programs so that they can access the labor market with efficiency and distinction that contribute to advancing the economy in the country. She recommended all students to be diligent, persevere, adhere to correct behavior and good morals, and follow academic guidelines and regulations.

Dr. Somaya Yousif expressed her happiness with the new students and wished them a successful academic year full of academic achievement. She explained that the Deanship of Students Affairs takes care of the creativity and extracurricular aspects.

She said, "The doors of the Deanship are open to solve all issues and problems of students in various aspects. We have prepared distinct cultural and intellectual programs leading students to excellence".

Dr. Somaya also provided information about the various departments of the Deanship of Student Affairs and invited all students to visit and communicate with the student supervision departments in the various colleges and campuses of the university.

Dr. Wisal Abbas spoke as a representative of all departments in the college and said, "I convey to all students our heartfelt welcome to the college with wishes for a prosperous future full of success and excellence".

Dr. Wisal also provided an introductory overview of the various departments and specializations, describing them as diverse and applied. She said, "The theoretical side is linked to latest practices in the teaching process, and we have a great connection with the veterinary medicine program, and we work together in efficiency and harmony".

During the celebration, an awareness lecture titled "Together Against Drugs" was presented by Dr. Abdel Samad Ali Abdel Samad, Professor of Islamic Culture at the university. The college students also presented creative poetry and chanting performance. The program included a comic show by the comedy band "Tirab".

At the end of the ceremony, certificates of thanks and appreciation were distributed to everyone who contributed to the process of registering new students, the reception committee, and all those who supported the college’s march.
