A Joint Cooperation Agreement Between SUST and the Union of Arab Exporters and Importers

In the presence of Mr. Al-Hadi Idris, a member of the Sovereignty Council representing the Chairman of the Council, the Friendship Hall in Khartoum witnessed the conclusion of a joint agreement between Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST) and the Union of Arab Exporters and Importers, where the Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Eisa Bashier Mohamad, signed on behalf of SUST, and the union’s chairman, Ms. Amal Hassan Zaki, signed for the union.

The major aim is to develop the relationship between the two sides and to create smart cooperation and partnership in the framework of knowledge and economic investment and the implementation of strategic projects in the future. The agreement was witnessed by Prof. Abdelazim Suleiman Al-Mahal, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university, representatives of the union and a group of entrepreneurs and investors.

It was agreed between the two parties to rehabilitate the infrastructure and service such as specialized colleges, halls, laboratories and workshops, in addition to the establishment of a university hospital and centers for research studies and training. The two sides also agreed to support and develop curricula and programs, prepare various industrial and economic investment plans, in addition to educational electronic systems and the import of modern technologies.

It is worth mentioning that the agreement will come to light soon and its provisions will be implemented on the ground in a way that serves the interests of the university, students and the country.

The agreement between the university and the federation secures the planning and implementation of a unique model of joint strategic cooperation to create a secure, more prosperous and developed future for the advancement of the university and the Sudanese people, push towards spreading peace, combating poverty, unemployment and illiteracy, investing in human development, building a knowledge-based economy, and spreading pioneering thought. In addition to encouraging a creative approach in thought and practice, investing in advanced technology, attracting the necessary funding to implement sustainable development projects, projects of the Arab Food Security Initiative, and maximizing the value added to the country’s agricultural, animal, fisheries and mining wealth.

Under this agreement, the two parties agree to joint cooperation in accordance with the provisions, terms and conditions of this agreement. The two parties affirm to support for all projects, plans, programs, and services between the two parties, joint cooperation in supporting faculty members and employing graduates.
