Under the slogan “With science and culture, we build Sudan” and under the generous sponsorship of the vice chancellor of Sudan University of Science and Technology and under the supervision of SOCOVA, the College of Computer Science and Information Technology (CCSIT) organized a ceremony to welcome new students for the academic year 2021-2022 and to honor the outstanding students for the academic year 2019-2020.
The event was attended by Dr. Afaf Madani Mohamed, Deputy Dean of CCSIT, heads of CCSIT departments, representatives from the Deanship of Student Affairs, and a group of students and graduates of the college and their families.
Dr. Afaf Madani expressed her happiness with the celebration and said: “Students are the torches of science, the unit of progress and positive change, and the builders of a bright future for our beloved Sudan.” She emphasized that the College of Computer Science will continue to provide the community and the labor market with qualified and distinguished cadres.
Furthermore, she explained that the college, along with experts and scholars, has a long legacy and is based on a great scientific, academic and knowledge history. She said, "Our programs and scientific and academic research are advanced and modern. We all seek development, progress and prosperity for the University". Finally, she strongly encouraged the students to strive, excel and persevere.
Mohamed Mustafa, the representative of the newly admitted students, thanked the university administration for their warm welcome, continuous care and interest in the new students. He said, "Our ambition since childhood is to be within the system of uniqueness, tradition and knowledge of the University of Sudan because of its great sales in modern and advanced sciences".
It is worth noting that orientation lectures were given to students about the academic system, the credit hours system, and exams, given by Dr. Azhari Fadl Al-Sayed. Dr. Intisar Ibrahim Ahmed gave an explanation of the college departments and curricula. Certificates of appreciation and financial prizes were distributed to the outstanding students.
