SUST Board of Directors Approves Financial and Academic Performance Reports and Brings Good News about 2022 Budget

For the fifth year, the second meeting for 2021 for the university's Board of Directors was held on the 28th of December 2021. The meeting sessions were held in the premises of the main campus of Sudan University of Science and Technology, in the presence of Prof. Awad Saad Hassan, vice chancellor of the university, and Prof. Mohammad Suleiman Hajjar, the session chair in addition to the distinguished members of the Council.

The vice chancellor, Prof. Awad Saad Hassan, presented the performance report for 2021, and stressed his pride in all the employees of the university who faced the challenges with highly appreciated strength, determination and dedicated efforts, the outcomes of which was clear in the university’s achievements at various levels and its impact on excellence and leadership, which enabled the university to achieve the deserved and acclaimed progress in various international forums and classifications. The vice chancellor also explained the great role that the university has played towards opening channels of communication and various visits with local and international community institutions via meetings, reflective visits, and knowledge spaces, according to required plans.

His excellency also revealed to the Board that they are working to achieve and implement development programs and projects through a phased plan that contributes to the stability of the university and creates the appropriate atmosphere for knowledge and creative giving and giving. He finally thanked all university employees for their continuous contributions and useful advice, promising them great outcomes in the near future.

Dr. Elfatih Ahmed Hassan, principal of the University, presented the financial performance report, explaining that the budget for 2022 came bearing the slogan (rationalization of spending and increase of resources), and he said, “We seek to support workers, develop the university’s infrastructure, provide the necessary equipment, complete various projects, looking after the environment, and exploit the available resources and invest them in an optimal and best manner until we reach the positive return required to achieve job satisfaction and meet ambitions".

Dr. Elfatih added that one of the top priorities of the budget is to provide distinguished services to students to ensure the sustainability of academic stability, in addition to its focus on completing projects in the various faculties of the university. He also stated that the budget paid great attention to training for all university employees with their different segments, using training centers and scientific research institutes. He finally added, “Our goal is to achieve the appropriate welfare for university employees".

Furthermore, Prof Caroline Edward Ayad, the Secretary of Scientific Affairs presented the report of the Committee on Policies and Academic Programs Upgrade. The Council, with its full membership, approved all the submitted reports with praise for what had been accomplished in the previous period.
