Queen Mother Delois Blakely and American Delegation Visits SUST

Dr. Mohamed Awad Al-Sheikh, Deputy Principal of Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST), received the American delegation of investors visiting the country within the framework of strengthening and opening channels of communication, investment opportunities and cooperation in the academic and technical fields. The American visiting delegation was headed by Queen Mother Dr. Delois Blakely, a goodwill ambassador to Africa at the United Nations.

From SUST, the delegation was received by Prof. Ezzelddin Mohamed Osman, Advisor to SUST's Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Wafaa Faisal Mukhtar Dean of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology and a group of university professors, students, interested individuals  and experts in the field.

Dr. Mohamed Awad expressed his happiness with the visiting delegation, and stated that the visit comes as a framework for ways of joint cooperation with academic and development institutions in various scientific fields. He said, "Sudan University is interested in developing academic programs and supports all initiatives that help in promoting scientific and technological research".

Also, Dr. Mohamed Awad pointed out that the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is always striving to raise the capabilities of students by including them in experiments that serve their scientific career. "The American investor delegation came to provide appropriate support in the technical and informational aspects of technology and computer sciences", he added.

Dr. Wafaa Faisal welcomed everyone and said "The visit aims to support and raise the capabilities of university students in general, and students of the College of Computer Science and Information Technology in particular, and push their academic career forward, as well as finding job opportunities for them in the future".

Dr. wafaa also indicated that the delegation made promises to provide 500 scholarships to support outstanding and distinguished students to study through e-learning, with financial support estimated value of 3500 USD under the supervision of SUST.

Queen Mother Dr. Delois Blakely, the goodwill ambassador to Africa at the United Nations, expressed her happiness with her presence in Sudan and said, "I was amazed at the great development that took place in Sudan, especially in the field of scientific research and knowledge". She also affirmed her endless support for women in Africa, urging them to continue the struggle to obtain higher scientific degrees

Ms. Connie provided special financial support to the students at the university. "Everyone should encourage the principle of receiving knowledge and owning multiple technological weapons for generations to secure the future and fortify the present", she commented.

Ms Alina gave a lecture on how to receive various courses in the field of information technology, databases, network security, and cybersecurity.

At the end of the visit, the delegation made a tour inside the main campus. They took souvenir photos inside the College of Fine and Applied Arts, which presented souvenirs to the Queen Mother amidst the warmth, happiness and interaction of the university students.
