A New Start for the Center for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Studies at Sudan University

A lecture was presented, in the presence of Prof Awad Saad Hassan, Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof. Mahadi Abbas Shakak, Deputy Vice Chancellor of the university, Dr. Kawthar Alhajj, Dean of the College of Science, and Dr. Zainab Khidir Osman, Director of the Center for Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Studies at the university.


The lecture was presented by Mr. Mustafa Mohammad Alhassan, an engineer and an expert in the field of materials science and chemical sciences, under the supervision of the College of Science and in the presence of a large number of professors, researchers, students and those who are interested.


Dr. Zainab Khidir Osman expressed her happiness with the scientific workshop and said, “We aspire to a new start for the center through smart and different partnerships with scientific institutions, especially the relevant oil bodies and companies.” She also commented on the importance of circulating and developing research and owning information through forums, conferences and training courses inside and outside Sudan.


She explained that the workshop aims to introduce early detection methods to avoid the occurrence of damages caused by the erosion of materials, and the necessity of exposing them to study and research, noting that such studies have direct impacts on the national economy and the environment, and stressed the establishment of the Fourth Forum for Non-Destructive Tests in the near future. "It represents an opportunity to converge expertise, develop competencies, qualify and provide consulting services in institutions", she commented.


It is worth noting that the lecture found great interaction from the audience through discussion and plannin potential models and theses. Two engineers Mr. Zaki Abdullah Alzaki and Mr. Ghaleb Bushra Ahmed Mohamed Nour, who are experts from Sudanese oil institutions gave insightful comments on it.
