The university signed a memorandum of understanding with BISCo for developed projects Co Ltd, the Energy Studies and Research Center. This is due to strong belief from the administration of Sudan University of Science and Technology in establishing smart partnerships with all sectors, especially the industrial ones, in order to qualify the professional, technical and administrative cadres to bring transformation in the sector, which contributes to the industrial development of the country.

The objective is to conduct research for development of activities, and providing scientific services and academic and technical consultations at the local, regional and international levels, in addition to enhancing the role of research projects in increasing productivity and finding innovative solutions based on knowledge and experience in the oil and gas industry.

Prof Awad Saad Hasan, vice chancellor of the university, signed on behalf of the university, while the general director of the company, Prof Albaraa AlObaid Muhammad Alayeb, signed for the company, and the two parties agreed to conduct joint research  studies for explored and unexplored areas to increase oil production in the country in addition to holding workshops, training courses, studies and joint applied research in addition to cooperation in supervision at the level of graduate and undergraduate studies.

The signing ceremony was attended by Prof Mahdi Abbas Shakak, deputy vice chancellor of the university, and Dr. Elham Mohamed Khair, Dean of the College of Petroleum Engineering.
