SUST Signs an MoU with El Daein University

Sudan University of Science and Technology (SUST) signed a memorandum of understanding with the El-Daein University, where the Vice Chancellor Prof. Eisa Bashier Mohamad signed on behalf of SUST and Prof. Ali Younes Breima, Vice Chancellor of El-Daein University, signed on behalf of El-Daein University. This comes as the University strongly believes in the necessity of closer scientific cooperation and the awareness of the need to develop means of development and expansion in the fields of higher education and scientific research.

The event was attended by Dr. Mustafa Ahmed Al-Jack, Director of Sudan Center for Self-Employment and Entrepreneurship, Dr. AbdelMoneim Khalil, Director of Investment, Dr. Huda Osman Abdallah, Director of the Public Relations and Media, and Dr. Mariam Abbas Ibrahim Abdelghafour, Director of External Relations. While the attendees from El-Daein University were represented by Dr. Adam Suleiman Eisa, Director of External Relations, Mr. Al-Hadi Al-Mahdi, Director of Public Relations, and Mr. Abdallah Faraj Allah, Director of Projects.

Prof. Bashier welcomed the Vice Chancellor of El-Daein University and his accompanying delegation to SUST and praised the trend of opening public universities outside state capitals to cover the increasing demand for universities. He explained that SUST supported many universities during their early establishment until they became competent.

Furthermore, Prof. Bashier assured the desire of SUST to cooperate and make partnerships with newly established universities. SUST is glad to share its expertise and extend a helping hand.

Prof. Bashier also added that although El-Daein University is newly established, but it enjoys various and enormous resources and wealth, which makes it the main engine in the region to provide community service by exploiting the region’s resources for development. "El-Daein University is considered a center of knowledge and research radiation for the communities around it", he added.

Prof. Ali Yunis Breima, Vice Chancellor of El-Daein University, said that Sudan University is at the forefront of Sudanese universities with its prestigious history and its human, professional and technological capabilities that are indisputable. Prof. Breima explained that his university includes (11) colleges (6) applied colleges (5) theoretical colleges in addition to ( 7) Research centers working in community service in various fields, in addition to the university's work in the axes of improving the conditions of university employees and the university environment improvement.

Prof. Breima also reflected the great cooperation between the university and the state government in serving its various localities, announcing their readiness to cooperate with SUST in investing in the livestock and agricultural sectors due to their high availability in the region.

The two parties agreed on joint cooperation in academic fields, postgraduate studies, scientific research and training, in addition to student exchange and faculty members exchange.

Prof. Bashier expressed his appreciation for the visit, hoping that both universities will benefit from this smart partnership. He announced that all capabilities of SUST, including professors, laboratories, and others, are open to El-Daein University. He directed to proceed immediately after signing the terms of the memorandum of understanding by forming a joint committee from both sides and he named SUST representatives who will serve in the committee. His Excellency presented the shield of SUST as a gift to the Vice Chancellor of El-Daein University.

At the end of the meeting, Dr. Mariam Abbas Ibrahim Abdelghafour, Director of External Relations, gave a brief presentation of the university, describing the (25) faculties in different disciplines, distributed in (10) campuses in the state of Khartoum.
