Vice Chancellor Attends the 12th Conference of Rectors in the Middle East (CONFREMO)

Prof Awad Saad Hassan, vice chancellor of the university, returned from the Arab Republic of Egypt, after he participated in the 12th Conference of Rectors in the Middle East (CONFREMO), which was organized by the University Agency for Francophonie at the University of Alexandria on the first of December.


Prof Awad stated that the conference discussed the challenges facing the fourth digital revolution in higher education institutions in the member states of the agency, which aims to shift from traditional education to digital education, which requires training for teachers, developing the support structure for this and providing databases in the next phase, and he added an addition to the use of artificial intelligence, and the need to cooperate with the private sector in projects aimed at finding solutions to this digital transformation.


Also, Prof Awad met with the Regional Director of Agency of Universities Francophonie (AUF), and it was agreed to cooperate in training teachers and technicians.


Prof Awad also met Prof Essam Al-Kurdi, Director of Alexandria University, who agreed to train nuclear engineering students at Alexandria University.


Prof Awad stated that the Sudan University of Science and Technology is the first Sudanese university to start the transition from traditional education to digital education, and added that a committee will be formed to develop plans to complete the implementation of this project.
