YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROJECT SUPPLIES MARKET WITH BROILER CHICKS
The Vice-Principal and supervisor of Youth Empowerment Program at the SUST, Dr. Behageel Tayfur, stated that the first training course on animal production focused on practical aspects, which targeted twenty-eight trainees to provide them with the information they needed, and announced that they had achieved more than 25 tons of broiler chicks. Moreover, he declared that the second course focused on the involvement of trainees in the all production process in order to apply the practical skills on the ground, announcing that the slaughter in this phase was done in two stages, the first stage included the chicks with a weight more than a kilo and a quarter, and the second stage was for the chickens with a weight more than two kilos.
Notably, he announced the organization of a workshop at the end of production process to determine the level of utilization of the project, noting that 60% of the profits for the youth, a fixed percentage confirmation of the support and interest of SUST in the employment of young people and helping them in the beginning of their career after graduation. It is worth mentioning that the market has been supplied with more than 30 tons of broiler chicks.
