SUST INAUGURATES SUDAN CENTER FOR SELF EMPLOYMENT AND ENTREPRENEURSHIP

The Vice President, Prof. Rashid Ahmed Mohammed Hussein, inaugurated Sudan Center for Self Employment and Entrepreneurship (SCSEE), which was established in collaboration with the Arab International Center for Entrepreneurship and Investment in Bahrain, the Microfinance Unit in the Bank of Sudan and the United Nations Industrial Development Organization.
Professor Rashid said that the SCSEE is one of the basic pillars that were being planned by SUST for a number of years and its nucleus was the business incubators project, which was jointly funded by SUST, Bank of Sudan, the Islamic Development Bank in Jeddah and other relevant bodies. The SCSEE aims at training the youth of Sudan in areas of their individual interest through the development of self-skills on the basis of self-employment and then links them up with the financial institutions where they can rely on themselves and support their families.
The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Center for Entrepreneurship in Bahrain, Sheikh Ibrahim Al Khalifa, welcomed the launching of the Entrepreneurship Center, which has been able to connect students and entrepreneurs to each other by exchanging experiences, capabilities and studies leading to commercial and investment partnerships. He also praised the role of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the Bank of the Family, which resulted in the establishment of the National Center for Non-Financial Services, that played a prominent role in contributing to the achievement of the goals of sustainable development.
Dr. Mustafa Ahmed El-Jack, Director of the SCSEE, said that the center is the first one that has been accomplished by the Ministry of Higher Education in Sudanese universities and government institutions.
Dr. Hashim Sulaiman Hussain, Director of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), added that this center is a true addition to the promotion of the concept of entrepreneurship and the culture of self-employment and will have a great future in Sudan and Africa in general to enable young people to build their future.
