SUST Participates in the Prices and Salaries Forum
Sudan University of Science and Technology participated in the price and income forum, which was organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, with a scientific paper presented by Dr. Qasim Al-Faki at the College of Business Studies.
The Forum was opened by the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Sadiq Al-Hadi Al-Mahdi, who expressed the Ministry interest in the establishment of economic forums to find solutions and proposals to assist the executive body in the country. This forum was a continuation of the economic forums that dealt with economic indicators prepared by colleges of economy in universities. He pointed out that the forums came in implementation of the decisions of the Council of Ministers on the pillars of the reform program of the state by reforming the economy and improving people livelihood.
The Vice Chancellor, Professor Rashid Ahmed Mohammed Hussein said: "These forums came as an initiative of universities to contribute to economic treatments through a series of forums dealing with economic issues." This forum is attended by experts from the Ministry of Finance, the financial committee in the National Council, in addition to the Supreme Council of Wages.
The paper presented by Dr. Qasim Al-Faki, is entitled "Conceptual Frameworks and the Statistical Facts of Inflation in Comparison with the Levels of Wages and Prices in the Sudan in 2012-2018". It dealt with the problem of inflation, which has become an economic threat that risks the national security and stability of the people, in addition to the problem of the Sudanese economy, which suffers from a chronic rise in the general level of prices, goods and services compared to a general weakness in wages.
