The Third International Scientific Conference for Camel Research and Production

The Minister of Animal Resources, Mr. Bushara Juma Aror, announced the laying of the foundation stone of the Scientific Center for Camel Research on Thursday, November 23, noting that it will be inaugurated next year.This came during the opening session of the Third International Scientific Conference for Camel Research and Production organized by SUST in cooperation with the Ministry of Animal Resources at the Higher Education and Scientific Research Hall under the patronage and presence of Minister of Higher Education, Dr. Sumaya Abu kashawa under the slogan "The Future of Camel Research and Production in the shadow of climatic Change". The minister affirmed the readiness of his ministry to continue partnership with SUST and develop camel products through scientific research.
The Chairman of SUST Trustees Board, Dr. Awad Al-Jaz, demanded researchers participating in the conference to consider seriously the applied research with the need to involve herdsmen to benefit from them in the scientific research on the characteristics of camels, stressing in this regard on the ability of SUST to take the lead in camel research and to elevate the name of Sudan globally.
The vice chancellor, Prof. Rashid Ahmed Hussein, welcomed the participants and stressed on the university interest in scientific research, particularly in the field of camels. He called on the researchers to come up with recommendations that would increase production and productivity and would also contribute to the national economy.
Dean of Scientific Research, Professor Amal Omar Bakhit, said that the conference was attended by representatives of 20 countries. It aims to develop camel products, change the concepts and to benefit from the camel products under the risk of climatic changes.
