Psychology Department at College of Education Organizes a Training Course on Empowering Autistic Children with Basic Skills
Department of Psychology, in collaboration with the Training Department at the College of Education, organized a training course on enabling children with autism to acquire the basic social skills. The course was held in the Seminars Hall at the College of Education and was lectured by the international expert, Dr. Ahmed Mustafa Ezzedine from Jordan. However, special education teachers, mothers of autistic children, students and a number of people interested in those with special needs took part in the training course.
The course dealt with the nature of autism disorder and its diagnosis and treatment, in addition to how to deal with an autistic child. The course lasted for two days with theoretical and practical sessions. Finally, this training course is the first one of its kind in Sudan which is based on Applied Behavior Analysis that aims at changing behavior of social significance.
