It is a pleasure to welcome you to the homepage of the College of Engineering at Sudan University of Science and technology (SUST). SUST’s College of Engineering is fortunate to be part of a country that is experiencing tremendous economic growth. Sudan has leveraged its physical location in the heart of Africa and the Arab world – a region that experiencing a tremendous growth in Higher Education, specially engineering education. The economic momentum points to improved lives for citizens of the country and most certainly requires a flagship institution of higher learning to meet the educational needs associated with this growth. Sudan University of Science and technology is that institution. SUST has established a vision to educate the best and brightest of tomorrow’s leaders. Achieving this vision will be a challenge; however, doing so will provide a tremendous spark to the economic development and life-changing improvements being made in Sudan. The College of Engineering will play a critical role in SUST reaching its ambitious goals. Our vision for the College of Engineering is tied closely to the University’s vision: SUST’s College of Engineering first will be the preferred engineering college in the country for students to obtain a world-class engineering education and to develop into the leaders of tomorrow; second, our faculty will advance the boundaries of knowledge through interdisciplinary research; and third, we will improve the lives of the citizens of Sudan through research and service. Our College of Engineering has a rich history of educating young people and expanding the boundaries of knowledge. This is truly an exciting time to be a part of this college and this university. The College of Engineering is poised to help the University take the next step toward building a better quality of life for our future generations. I am excited by the changes that occur continually in engineering – within our college as well as out in the field. Given the opportunities provided and the challenge of training graduates who will thrive in the demanding world of the professional engineer, our new vision will make us the preferred engineering college in the country and a proud partner of its university of choice. I am proud to lead this college, which is poised for tremendous growth. I am committed to establishing mutually beneficial partnerships to provide an effective response to the needs of the country. The college is poised to play an important role to influence economic development of the region by providing education, training, and research opportunities in engineering and technology. We are proud to be a part of the Flagship University for the Country, proud of our graduates and proud of our contributions to research and the community.
