In year 2005 we celebrated the Golden jubilee of CAS so as to express our happiness and pride with the successful achievements and progress it has made during the last 50 years. The initial efforts were to improve the performance of the agricultural sector through graduation of trained field technicians. Later on and with the continuous development in CAS means and methods, these efforts included introduction of agricultural research so as to contribute in increasing crop production and improving the quality of agricultural products. We strongly believe that future efforts towards improving the academic and research standards could only be done through a comprehensive vision which considers the dynamic changes in the scientific and socio-economic fields. In this respect it is highly necessary to introduce methods for assessment of our academic and research procedures so as to meet local, regional and international accreditation standards. In fact the responsibility of continuing such efforts relies mainly on our scientists and academics and I think beyond no doubt that we are committed to make this challenge a reality.
